Milwaukee Historian John Gurda is best known
for his authorship of The Making of Milwaukee, a 450-page
history of the city which inspired an Emmy Award-winning
documentary series in 2006. His talk for A THOUSAND WORDS will
focus on how Milwaukeeans coped during the Depression and the role
of the WPA in the city's economic recovery.
