Master Class - ViewPoints

Wednesday, August 13 - 6:30 p.m.

Join us for an opportunity to hear an insightful presentation by Maria Callas expert, Patrick C. Byrne, co-author of "The Colors of Callas: Reflections of an Icon."

Patrick C. Byrne first saw Maria Callas live in concert in Kansas City in 1959. Since then, he has spent much of his life dedicated to cataloging information on the life and career of the legendary soprano. In 1998 he started an independent record label called OMBRA records which is primarily devoted to preserving historical live performances by Callas. There have been seven issues to date, ranging from concert performances to a complete recording of Maria Callas in TOSCA. In 1999, he co-authored the biography "The Colors of Callas, Reflections of an Icon." The biography was introduced at the Maria Callas International Society's gala in honor of Callas' death. Since 2002, Byrne served as the opera critic for Belgian Opera Guide.

This offering is part of MCT's ViewPoints series and is FREE and open to the public. The presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. immediately before the evening performance of MASTER CLASS.

ViewPoints will take place in the Skylight Bar & Bistro - which will be open for dinner and refreshments beginning at 5:30 pm on Aug. 13. Reservations welcomed 414.291.3773 or
